Things to be Thankful for

625394_at_the_kitchen.jpgI had a really great, really fun weekend. I got to spend time with friends, enjoy some relaxation, and eat some great food. As much as I love my job, I also appreciate the ability to slow down and enjoy life on the weekends.

My Kitchen. I love to have people over and cook for them. I love trying new recipes and experimenting. Sometimes it turns out better than I’d hoped, other times it turns out to be inedible, and other times, it doesn’t turn out like I’d hoped, but I just change the name and it’s great! I really enjoy watching people eat my food, enjoy it, and have a good time. There’s something really special about taking the time to prepare a meal for someone that makes it seem really special when you get to eat it together. I’m so grateful for my kitchen and great friends who are brave enough to try my food!

Pride & Prejudice. Not only is this my favorite book, but it’s also my favorite movie. I’ve read the book at least 3 times, and make a habit of watching the movie at least once a month. Every time I read it or watch the movie, something new stands out to me. It’s such a great story. When I’m having a bad day I’ll just put my feet up and watch the movie. Even if I only have a enough time to watch a couple scenes, that’s usually enough to help me relax and get the motivation I need to do what I need to do.

Laughter. I really love to laugh. I really appreciate that God has a sense of humor and created us with a sense of humor. Laughter is a great way to burn calories, to lift your mood, or to wake yourself up. Even when I’m really sad, I try to find something to laugh at. I also appreciate that I have friends who can make me laugh. I’m very thankful for laughter.

What are you thankful for today?
