It’s been unseasonably cool here. Plus school has started. And the leaves on one of the trees on my running route have started to change color. All of these events have led me to be really ready for fall clothes.
This fall, there are a few great trends. Here are a few that you can incorporate into your wardrobe right now.
Ruffles. This season, you can have as much fun with this ladylike detail as you’d like. If you’re a girly girl, here are a few great pieces. If you’re more conservative, here are some subtle ways to incorporate ruffles into your fall lineup.
Draping. This is another great ladylike detail. Draping is a really pretty way to dress up a plain outfit. Try something like this or this.
Zippers. I have great memories of my first pair of Guess jeans with zippers on the ankles. Over the weekend, I bought these. What goes around comes around. However, zippers aren’t just for function this fall. Zippers make great details, accents, and even jewelry.
Brights. Though fall traditionally means a more subdued color palette, here are a few of the great colors for this fall. You can pair something bright like this with a great neutral. Or you can go bold with something like this.
Country. This fall, get out your flannel shirts and boots. There’s something about dressing for a hay rack ride that seems really comforting in the fall, and this year is no exception. Here are a few great farm-inspired pieces for fall.
Remember: adding these fall trends to your wardrobe doesn’t have to be expensive. Many of these looks can be achieved by sewing on a zipper from the craft store, rifling through second-hand stores, or buying one great piece to add to an outfit that’s already in your closet!
